Using Runway’s Gen-2 text-to-video product, I created a short video using my own hazy memories for prompts.
Creating videos of moments I don’t have any physical records of felt like science fiction. The output, while not exactly how I remember it, impacted me in surprising ways.
For example, I have faint memories of going to drive-in theaters when I was a kid. Simply typing in ‘Cars at a drive in movie theater 1978’ produced the clip used in the video’s thumbnail. Looking at the image makes the memory feel more vibrant.
The fidelity and quality of the output is still at a nascent level, but’s it is going to accelerate rapidly.
